COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — The Columbus Division of Police is investigating a shooting that occurred Friday in the Hilltop.

Columbus Police say they were helping the US Marshals serve a warrant in the 100 block of Wrexham Avenue on a man wanted on sexual assault charges.

Police say the suspect shot himself when they tried to serve the warrant.

The suspect later died at the hospital.

Columbus Police Homicide is investigating, but they say it doesn't appear any officers fired.
