COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is offering free admission to furloughed employees affected by the partial government shutdown.
The Zoo said the offer is for furloughed federal employees and their immediate family members for as long as the government is shutdown.
To redeem the promotion, federal employees must present their federal ID or badge at the Zoo's ticket booth.
The promotion is valid during Zoo operating hours, which are 10 am to 4 pm.
Standard parking fees still apply: $10 per vehicle, free for Zoo members.
The Columbus Zoo is open 363 days a year, and there is plenty to experience in the winter months. The Zoo says many animals are still visible from the comfort of heated, indoor shelters.
