Crews search Ross County Lake for missing Chillicothe woman

Authorities are searching Ross Lake, outside of Chillicothe, reportedly for the body of missing woman Wanda Lemons (WSYX/WTTE)

Crews and divers from several agencies were at Ross Lake, outside Chillicothe, Friday morning.

Authorities haven't said why they're searching the lake, but Wanda Lemon's mother says it is a search for her daughter's remains. Lemon is one of two women from the Chillicothe area who are still missing.

Six women went missing in the area; four of the six victims were later found dead.

Diana Willett, Lemon's mom, says she was told authorities got an anonymous tip that Lemon's body had been dumped in Ross Lake after a lethal overdose in November, 2016.

Members of the Ross County Sheriff's Office dive team, Franklin County dive team, and Ohio Department of Natural Resources were searching the lake.

The family arrived to the lake around 12:30 p.m.
