Flu numbers on the rise in Central Ohio

    As the new year arrived, Columbus Public Health shared that the number of flu cases is on the rise.

    The health department said as a whole, flu intensity increased compared to the previous week, moving into "moderate" status.

    The percentage of emergency department visits for both influenza-like-illness and respiratory symptoms increased compared to the previous week.

    Columbus Public Health said local labs reported 1,948 tests run with 182 (9.3%) positive results for week 52 of 2018.
