Gahanna Rocks! New-to-town mom creates 'kindness rocks' club

Tess Stein wanted her family to explore Central Ohio.

When they moved to Gahanna from Des Moines, Iowa, they knew very little about the area, she said.

Tess enjoyed crafts and painting and decided to start the 'Gahanna Rocks!' club on Facebook, a local version of The Kindness Rocks Project.

The idea is simple: paint a rock, leave it for a stranger to find and hope that it inspires kindness.

"When I do find them, I'm super excited," she told WSYX/WTTE. "We mostly leave them at parks."

The local group was formed six months ago on Facebook and it already has nearly 1,500 members.
