Greater police presence at Columbus City Schools on Friday due to social media threats

    COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- Columbus City Schools will have an increased police presence at all its high schools on Friday after threats of a mass shooting posted on social media.

    Officials said the district has been working with the Columbus Division of Police through the night on this threat, which specifically targeted Eastmoor Academy. Earlier in the day, the district said there was no validity to a threat at Centennial High School.

    Columbus Police also commented on the matter saying "Parents, students, and followers should be reassured that their students will be safe when they go to school tomorrow."
