Hamilton Local School District lifts lockdown, suspect in custody
Hamilton Local School District said all buildings were placed on lockdown after a student received a threat Thursday.
The lockdown was lifted around 40 minutes later. The school district said a suspect is in custody.
Elementary and and AM preschool classes are cancelled Thursday.
The school district was originally placed on lockdown around 8 a.m. Thursday.
"One of our students received a threat from someone in another district that caused us to initiate lockdown protocols in all of our buildings to maximize the safety of our students and employees," said the school district on their website. "We wanted to be proactive in this situation. There are no other details at this time. Law enforcement is investigating the threat."
The school district said elementary students waiting to be picked up will not be taken to the school.
