Multiple people injured in crash that kills Hardin County EMT
The Hardin County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash that took the life of a South East Hardin EMS first responder.
The incident happened just after 9:20 p.m. Saturday morning.
According to a press release, EMT Krista McDonald was driving a southbound ambulance on State Route 292 at the intersection at State Route 273 when a west bound vehicle operated by Rachael Willeke of Belle Center failed to yield the right a way and struck the ambulance broadside.
McDonald and her EMT partner Peggy Eastman were ejected from the ambulance.
Krista was pronouced dead at the scene.
Eastman and a passenger in the Willeke vehicle, Alexander Young, were both flown to OSU Wexner Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
Willeke and a minor child was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital by BKP with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff's office with the assistance of Multi County Crash Investigation Team.
