COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Firefighters battled an early morning house fire in west Columbus on Friday.

The fire broke out at a house along Columbian Avenue around 4 a.m.

The smoke detectors in the house worked and the family was able to escape safely.

According to investigators, the fire caused around $50,000 in damage.
