Columbus, Ohio (WSYX) — A judge set a $2 million bond for a man accused of setting multiple fires.
Izuchukwu Ogbuehi, 26, is charged with aggravated arson.
According to police, a man filled a plastic bottle with $4 worth of gas and headed towards Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville on Thursday. Officers found burn marks on the lobby floor in a nearby medical facility. Someone then called for help after a man poured out that bottle and was holding a lighter in an exit area.
The building was evacuated and no injuries were reported.
Police believe the same man set two more fires that morning at a Kroger and McDonald's, both located on Morse Road.
"We are very lucky none of them resulted in any injuries at all," Westerville Police Detective Justice Alloway said. "I can’t see any connection between the three and until we talk to him."
Officers were able to track down the suspect with the help of surveillance cameras at a gas station.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 2.
