Linden educators using style to help students reach for success

Columbus, Ohio (WSYX) — Opening up avenues of success through style, kids in Linden were laced with some fresh new kicks.

The gift is part of an initiative aimed at promoting positivity and pushing kids to academic excellence.

A little bit of motivation goes a long way. Educators and community activists in Linden are looking to give kids a hand and push forward.

"Jay's for A's," the kids love the sneakers, and the parents love the academic progress.

"We Are Linden" is celebrating students going above and beyond at Legacy Academy of Excellence.

The community group hosted a fundraiser to purchase the shoes. The fresh kicks will be going to students who've gone above and beyond in the classroom.
