Matheau Moore, a Westerville man accused of killing his wife Emily Noble, appeared virtually in court Friday afternoon.

Detectives say Matheau Moore staged Noble's body to appear that she hanged herself in a wooded area near their home.

Police arrested Moore Thursday after Noble went missing last May.

Moore pleaded not guilty in a video arraignment. Bond was set at $2.5 million dollars.

Moore and Noble married in 2018. He reported her missing a year ago after he claimed they celebrated her 52nd birthday. According to the family, he told police that the couple returned home, went to sleep then went missing the next morning. Her keys and wallet were still in the home.

Several searches for Noble took place in the Westerville area since May and some included the FBI.

Noble’s family claimed Moore refused to participate in each event and also stopped cooperating with the police.
