Missing Champaign County teen possibly headed to Columbus

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- The Champaign County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to locate a missing teen possibly headed to Columbus.

Alexis Dixon, 15, was last seen leaving Triad High School in Woodstock with a duffel bag around 10 a.m. The sheriff's office received a report that she was missing eight hours later.

Officials said the majority of her personal belongings were removed from her home with her house key left on a table. Upon leaving school, she was reportedly provided a ride from the high school to Urbana.

Her friends told authorities she's possibly headed to the Columbus area.
