DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a truck on U.S. 35 Wednesday night.
According to a crash report, that motorcyclist was in the second lane from the median when the rider failed to maintain assured clear stopping distance. The motorcyclist, identified as 60-year-old Juana Conley, then hit a car that had stopped in the same lane to recover furniture that had fallen out of the truck. Conley's motorcycle then went off the side of the road and hit the center median wall. He was pronounced dead as a result of the crash.
The truck that was hit was forced forward by the force of the collision, and a person who was outside of the vehicle helping with the furniture was hit. That person was taken to the hospital, but is no longer listed as a patient.
The crash is still under investigation.
