Mount Carmel shares 'Plan of Correction' to address pharmaceutical issues

    Mount Carmel shared Tuesday that two correction plans to address pharmaceutical issues have been approved by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

    Ohio Department of Health (ODH) investigators found problems with the pharmaceutical services at Mount Carmel West and Mount Carmel Saint Ann's.

    Mount Carmel in "immediate jeopardy," could lose medicare, medicaid funding

    Mount Carmel West has been placed in "immediate jeopardy status" for their participation in Medicare and Medicaid, hospital officials said Friday. On Friday night, the Ohio Department of Health provided ABC6/FOX28 letters from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services sent to Mt. Carmel West and Mt. Carmel St. Ann"s.

    The hospital system said CMS has asked the ODH to conduct follow up surveys/inspections to ensure that each hospital is implementing its respective plan.
