New dress complaints at Dublin bridal store

DUBLIN, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- Some brides said they are having trouble getting wedding dresses they bought from a Dublin shop.

ABC 6/FOX 28 first told viewers last December about the troubles being reported at "The Elegant Bride." At the time, the owner apologized for any issues and promised to work with customers.

Now, new concerns are surfacing.

Kelsey Hoak talked with ABC 6/FOX 28 from West Virginia, where she lives.

She bought her wedding dress at The Elegant Bride in Dublin, her hometown.

"I found my dream dress," she said. "I tried it on and had one of those moments that you see on like 'Say Yes to the Dress'."

That was in July, now her wedding is about three months away.

"I just keep thinking everyone has their clothes and I don't have a dress. It's been rounds of calls, texts, and multiple drives up to Columbus, but still no dream dress."

She even sent her receipt. Kelsey says the owner told her time after time that her dress hadn't arrived yet. So her dad went to the shop Friday.

"She said 'sir, we will give you a full refund' and my dad said 'great, but what is a refund gonna do? Dresses take time to order.'"

And Kelly isn't alone. Another bride said she still hasn't gotten her dress, and her wedding is in about three months as well. The current problems are similar to the ones previously reported.

"I went to the elegant bride today. No one was there. The door was locked and the shop was dark. No one answered the phone, my email and the owner's cell phone was disconnected."

Kelsey isn't sure what she is going to do, but she and the other bride are going to the shop this weekend.

"Here I am booking a limo and making sure my cake is ready and I don't even have anything to wear! So it is frustrating, and I just I mean, common courtesy and it's not fair. It really isn't."
