Ohio early voting ends Monday
Monday is the final day of early voting before the primary election begins Tuesday.
Races up and down the ballot have lead to a higher turnout this year.
More than 8,000 people have voted early as of Sunday. Dozens of volunteers could be seen at the voting center along with candidates trying to secure some last-minute votes.
Election officials said more and more people have been voting early in person. They said fewer people are requesting absentee ballots and more have shown up ahead of time.
They expected a large turnout this year with races for the nomination for governor, senate and some congressional seats all up for grabs.
"I enjoy the process," said voter Toni Bell. "It’s great to see the candidates out here especially and to hear them making their pitch and actually working to earn our votes.”
Polls across the state open at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and will stay open until 7:30 p.m.
