Person dead after Linden area shooting

Police investigated a deadly shooting in the Linden area Tuesday night.

Officers responded to shooting in the 1000 block of Loretta Avenue at 7:24 p.m. The victim was taken to Riverside Hospital in life-threatening condition where they died from their injuries.

Police have not released any info about suspects or a motive.

CPD said in a release that witnesses stated that they heard a gunshot then observed a dark colored vehicle speeding away from this location. CFD Medic 13 responded to the scene and rushed the victim to Riverside Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by attending physicians at 7:47 p.m.

The identity of the victim is currently being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

The investigation continued.

This was the 120th Homicide in Columbus, Ohio in Calendar Year 2017.
