Police: Former Bachelor contestant Lex McAllister dies from apparent suicide

Former contestant on ABC's "The Bachelor" Lex McAllister has died from suicide, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Police say the incident happened between 2 a.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

The person who reported the incident told police that McAllister texted her on Saturday saying she wanted to end her life. But, the person said she did not see the text until the afternoon and went to check on McAllister.

The same person says she found McAllister and empty prescription bottles. She told police that she called emergency personnel and, during that time, McAllister regained consciousness. The person who found McAllister wasn't able to tell the medics what kind of medication McAllister had taken.

McAllister was taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition.

According to a TMZ report: She was taken to a hospital in stable condition but, according to her family, her body started to shut down. The family withdrew life support and Lex died Tuesday morning.

Lex was on season 14 of "The Bachelor." She was eliminated after the first week.
