Student identified as suspect in south Columbus school shooting
Police responded to a report of an active shooter at south Columbus school Friday morning.
The incident was reported at Columbus Scioto 6-12 school at 8:38 am per Columbus Police. The school was placed on lockdown as officers worked to secure the scene.
Police say SWAT they arrested 18-year-old Adan Abdullahi at 8:58am, and found a gun. They said there were no injuries at the scene.
Students were moved away from the school about an hour after police responded. They were later bused to Linmoor Education Center until parents could pick them up.
The school is on South High Street, near Williams Road.
School buses were on the way to pick up students aroud 9:45 a.m.
Columbus City Schools has cancelled classes for the school on Monday. Teachers and grief counselors will be in the building.
