SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A Springfield woman is facing two counts of child endangering after police say she left two children home alone while she went to buy alcohol with a teen.

Kristen Foster, 33, was arrested outside her home on Barker Drive on Friday, April 13. According to a police report, an officer was at the home trying to find a 16-year-old boy who'd been reported missing. When the officer knocked on the door, there was no answer. Neighbors told the officer that Foster was gone and with the teen. Police say the neighbors told them the teen had been hiding in the home and had been living there for more than a month.

The officer parked his car down the street from the home and waited for Foster and the teen to return. When they did, the officer said the teen and Foster tried to hide under the dash and seat so the officer couldn't seen them. The officer reports that he approached the car and told the pair to get out. When they opened the door, the officer said he could smell freshly burnt marijuana. The officer said the teen had slurred speech. Foster was also impaired, he said, by prescription medication. Foster told police she had been shopping with the teen and that the two were "friends through family." She also told police the teen and her daughter were friends, however, police talked with Foster's daughter, who said the teen is not a friend of hers and had recently pointed a gun at her.

Police took the teen into custody as a missing juvenile and for obstructing official business. While talking with the teen, police say he told them he and Foster "make out with each other and mess around." He also told police he and Foster have sex, according to the report.

The two children inside the home are currently being cared for by a family member. Police estimate they were left home alone for about two hours. Inside the car, police found a large paper bag that had a bottle of pina colada mixer and a large bottle of Henessey inside.
