COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — A popular car share service is discontinuing its Columbus service effective May 31.
Thursday, car2go announced service in Columbus will only last until the end of the month.
"We’re writing to let you know that after careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue car2go service in Columbus," said the company in an email to its users.
The car share program first launched in 2013 and has provided users the ability to rent cars on demand for one-way trips and park at city meters without paying.
The company said the program can be used through May 31, but the number of available vehicles may decrease before then.
