COLUMBUS, OHIO (WSYX/WTTE) — A one-day, full-scale exercise with more than 250 local and national law enforcement participants from is taking place Sunday in Polaris.
The goal of this exercise is to prepare Columbus first responders for large scale emergencies, reinforce training and agency policies law enforcement has received, and identify policies that can be improved. It's also an chance for different agencies to work together that usually don't have an opportunity to until an emergency happens.
Representatives from Central Ohio's first responders including Police, Fire and EMS, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Franklin County Emergency Management Agency & the Department of Homeland Security are present.
The event is at JP Morgan Chase, 1111 Polaris Parkway, until 5 p.m.
