Remembering Chris Bradley

It is with a heavy heart that ABC 6/FOX 28 reports beloved meteorologist Chris Bradley has died. He was 53.

Bradley began appearing on ABC 6/FOX 28 in the late 1990's. For the next decade, Bradley became one of Central Ohio’s most beloved meteorologists.

He didn’t do weather alone. Bradley had his right-hand partner, Boswell the Weather Hound, who became famous in his own right.

After his time at ABC 6/FOX 28, Bradley didn’t leave Columbus. He created a loving home with longtime partner Jason Krauss, and adopted two children, Spencer and Maria.

In 2014, Chris and Jason wed with their kids by their side. Bradley called it the happiest day of his life. Their family was a picture-perfect family, a home based on a foundation of faith, that was filled with love and laughs.

During his time in Columbus, Bradley and Krauss became a very visible part of Central Ohio’s LGBTQ community, fighting for equal rights.

Then came March 2017, Bradley shared that he was battling what he thought was a lingering cold, but it was something more serious. He was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukemia.

Over the next 20 months, Bradley fought the disease with chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, and several clinical trials. He never gave up on his faith, and his family stood by his side through the ordeal.

In August 2018, Bradley entered a new immunotherapy trial, but sadly none of the treatments were successful.

November, the Bradley family shared devastating news. Chris had run out of options. He entered hospice care.

“We’ve simply run out of options to treat this disease,” he wrote. “I thank you for your continued prayers as I transition from palliative care at home to hospice care here at home.

Bradley was surrounded by his family, Jason, Spencer and Maria, during his final days.

The ABC 6/FOX 28 family will never forget his contributions to the Columbus community.
