Swensons has been voted the best burger in Northeast Ohio.

WKYC shared the results of their burger battle on Tuesday, National Cheeseburger Day.

"After thousands of your votes, Swensons has won the title of best burgers in Northeast Ohio," said WKYC.

The runner up was Hodge's Cafe in Baberton, followed by Louie's Bar & Grille in Akron then The Rail.

WKYC said Swensons, which is known for its signature Galley Boy, a double cheeseburger smothered in two homemade sauces, is consistently ranked among the nation's best burgers.

“For anybody who grew up in the Akron area they kind of know it, but for anybody who's unfamiliar with the drive-in experience, this is all curbside dining,” Swensons spokesperson Crystal Griffith told WKYC.

Swensons is expanding to several new locations including at least two in Central Ohio. The definitive locations are on Sawmill Road and in Polaris near Ikea.

The burger restaurant also hopes to open in Hilliard.
