An Army veteran graduated decades after he dropped out of high school.

Urvin Hartsock, 79, arrived at John Glenn International Airport Thursday evening after taking an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., to visit war memorials.

The next day, he walked across the stage to graduate from Johnstown High School. He would have been in the class of 1962 but dropped out of school and later joined the Army.

Hartsock has been a longtime resident of Johnstown and a member of its American Legion Post 254.
