Voters decided to help fund the money to rebuild two new elementary schools in the Worthington City School district Tuesday.

Superintendent Dr. Trent Bower called Issue 9 and Issue 10 a win around 9:30pm, several hours after polls closed.

Issue 9 is an $89 million bond issue for the next 30 years that will rebuild Perry and Worthingway Middle Schools. Issue 10 is an operating levy that would increase by two mills for the next three years and generate nearly $3 million in fiscal year 2019. In fiscal year 2022, those funds increase to $16 million.

Worthington City Schools leaders predict enrollment to increase by another 800 within the next five years.
