Woman found guilty of aggravated vehicular homicide following death of 7-month-old
A judge handed down a guilty verdict to a woman charged with vehicular homicide following the death of a 7-month-old last year.
Thursday, a judge convicted 31-year-old Muhuba Muhamed on one count of vehicular homicide after striking a man and his 7-month-old child.
Muhamed faces a possible 5-year prison sentence.
Prosecutors said Muhamad had her temporary permit at the time of the crash and should have had someone in the car with her. They also said she was involved in a crash four days before the fatal mishap. The father of the child took the stand Wednesday and told a judge he didn't see the car coming and was struck from behind. Kenan Ferebee tried to go after Muhamed after the crash but was restrained by police.
Muhamed's attorneys said prosecutors did not do a thorough job in ruling out other causes of the crash.
She will be sentenced on November 29.
ABC 6/FOX 28 will continue to follow this case.
