Woman in critical condition after Scioto County shooting

WHEELERSBURG, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — The Scioto County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a woman was shot late Sunday night in Portsmouth.

Sarina Palacios, 32, of Portsmouth is in critical condition after she was shot around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the Scioto County Sheriff's Office.

The release said a neighbor called 911 saying a woman had been shot at a home at 3654 State Route 140 in Portsmouth.

When deputies arrived, they found Palacios in the bedroom of the home with a gunshot wound.

During the investigation, deputies arrested Jason Toland, 32, of Portsmouth. He was a witness at the scene and was wanted on a warrant for inducing panic.
