4-year-old girl battling cancer asking for holiday mail

BOSTON (WSYX/WTTE) - A little girl who is spending the holiday season in the hospital is asking for a little extra cheer in the form of lots of mail to open.

Ruby Mae Millea was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma in June, after initially complaining about knee pain and having some fevers, her mother told Boston TV station WCVB. Ruby has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment at Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center, and recently had a major surgery to remove most of her tumor.

Her mother says a nurse got the 4-year-old a mailbox outside her hospital room, and when she got mail, it made for a great day for her daughter. Now, they're hoping lots of people will help fill the mailbox and make every day a great day.
