Central Ohioans helping restore power to millions of Floridians in the dark
An army of linemen and crews will descend on south Florida to help get more than 4.4 million customers out of the dark after Hurricane Irma blew through.
Florida Power and Light says it has 19,500 workers on hand to help restore power. But the key question is when will electricity be restored? FPL does not have a clear picture on that.
"Until we have a better sense of how much damage and destruction has taken place, I can't tell you," said Eric Silvagy, president of FPL.
Crews from Central Ohio will join other utility companies in the south helping to get the juice back on.
