Crocs closing manufacturing facilities, per reports

    COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) - Crocs, a Colorado-based company, is closing its company-owned manufacturing facilities and replacing an executive, per multiple reports.

    DailyCamera.com reports the company's chief financial officer is being replaced as part of the closure of facilities.

    The news comes out after Crocs announced a new-style of shoe featuring a high heel.

That"s what many in the Twitterverse think after the Colorado-based company introduced a high-heels version of their plastic footwear, which has seen a recent revival after going out of fashion about 10 years after their successful launch.

    The facilities closing are located in Mexico and Italy, per bizjournals.com.

    Crocs Inc. said it"s closing a manufacturing facility in Mexico and said it also plans to close its last manufacturing facility in Italy. The Niwot shoemaker (Nasdaq: CROX) also said that its CFO is resigning. Crocs said it"s closing all of its company-owned manufacturing facilities "in connection with ongoing efforts to simplify the business and improve profitability."

    No word on how the closures will affect company-owned stores, per abcactionnews.com.

    NIWOT, Colorado - The last of Crocs Inc."s manufacturing facilities, located in Italy, is going to close, the company announced. It also closed its plant in Mexico. Crocs leaders did not give information on how it will continue producing its products during its second-quarter earnings report this week.
