COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) - Ohio Governor and Ohio State University alumnus John Kasich was stunned to hear about the campus car-and-knife attack Monday morning that left 11 people injured, saying, "it took a piece out of everybody" who ever attended or touched a part of the university.

At a press conference with law enforcement, medical, and local officials to discuss the particulars of the incident, Kasich was quick to commend the actions of authorities, who shot and killed 18-year-old suspect Abdul Razak Ali Artan within two minutes of the first 911 call.

Kasich said it will be a lesson to law enforcement agencies nationwide on the accompanying first responders' effectiveness in coordination and execution.
