Multiple people hurt after moose causes 6-vehicle crash in Maine

PLYMOUTH, ME (WSYX/WTTE) --Two people were injured in Maine after a six-vehicle accident due to a moose in the middle of the road, authorities told WABI.

Maine State Police said a car driving south on I-95 struck the moose before going off the road and into the woods. Two people were injured in that vehicle, but their conditions were unknown, according to WABI.

Police said five other vehicles then hit the same moose causing damage to their vehicles, but no further injuries.

The road was closed for approximately an hour as crews cleaned up the scene.
