Fort Oglethorpe Police are looking for a couple who were caught on camera at a local restaurant pocketing a donation jar and leaving the restaurant.

A viewer who works at the El Matador Mexican restaurant on Patterson Avenue made us aware of the story.

We're told the incident happened a week ago, on Thursday. The video shows the couple sitting near the cash register, and waiting for an employee to turn away.

Once that employee does, the woman surreptitiously grabs the jar and puts it in her purse, with help from the man. They both then immediately leave.

The donation bucket is for a local boy who has bronchiectasis, which is a condition where the bronchial tubes of the lungs are permanently damaged, widened, and thickened.

NewsChannel 9 spoke with the boy's mother, Cassandra Brown.

The Fort Oglethorpe Police Department is now looking for the couple.

If you recognize them, please call the FOPD at (706) 866-2512.

You can donate to the Brown's GoFundMe fundraiser for their son's medical expenses here.

Come back later for updates on this developing story.
