GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WSYX/WTTE) - North America's longest pedestrian suspension bridge is only steps away from opening in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Gatlinburg Skylift shared an image of the bridge, named SkyBridge, on their Facebook page on Jan. 4.

At nearly 700 feet in length, SkyBridge will span the valley between ridges on Crockett Mountain at heights up to 150 feet. Visitors will be able to see Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains from an entirely different vantage point.

There are only a few more "steps" to take until the bridge is completed, officials said.

"A lot of hard work has gone into constructing this bridge," Gatlinburg SkyLift wrote on Facebook.
