INDIANA — We all have bad days. When those days happen, most of us may feel like we have to forget about, push through it and go on with our day -- Even though what we really want (and need) is a moment to clear our minds and just breathe.
Bad days can be especially difficult when you have to deal with a child who is having a bad day, as well.
A mother in Indiana was going through this exact situation when Indiana State Police Sergeant Precious Corner Jones walked by.
The mother explained to Sgt. Jones all she could do was take a step back and watch as her son quietly laid on the floor.
"This little fella was having a tough morning and fell out on the floor. I seen his mother step back and look," she wrote in a Facebook post. "She stated this is how he is expressing himself lately."
That is when Sgt. Jones decided to get on the boy's level and talk to him. She detailed how he started to cry as she laid down next to him, so she wiped his tears and comforted him, reassuring him it would all be okay.
She wrote:
As an adult, sometimes all we want is one person to stop, get on our level and maybe wipe our tears. These children are entitled to bad days just as us. So, give them that moment to bring it together. Get on someone's level today and make them smile!
The sergeant ended her message encouraging people to spread peace and love because they just might be the person to give another human being a ray of hope on a cloudy day.
