LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (WKRC) - A viral video shows the moment a disgruntled restaurant customer became physically aggressive.
The TikTok, posted Saturday, has more than 40,000 views as of Sunday. It was apparently recorded at a Taco Bell in Long Island, New York.
A man is seen arguing with an employee behind the counter. Several foil-wrapped menu items are on the countertop.
The customer threatens to sue the employee, who asks if he wants a new order. The man yells back that he does want more food.
"Plus you guys are gonna pay for my f***ing microwave! It blew up!" he says.
The employee says something inaudible, before the customer accuses him of smiling and slaps him across the face.
"What the f**k? What's going on with you, bro?" the employee says.
At that point, a woman behind the counter steps between them. The customer asks if she's the manager, and she says she is.
He then starts yelling at the other employee again, who responds, "I'm the manager, too."
The customer shouts more expletives, and the video ends.
TikTok users in the comments, as well as those who have made response videos to the incident, voiced overwhelming support for the employee.
"He gets mad at the employee because he blew up his microwave because he skipped 8th grade science & put aluminum in the microwave. Got it," one person wrote.
"Nobody has the right to lay hands on another. Dude showed incredible restraint," said another.
A large portion of the comments are encouraging the employee to press charges against the customer for assault. It's not clear if that happened.
