POWELL, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — The Powell Police Department is looking for a suspected thief wanted for targeting three nail salons in less than an hour.
“He tried to unzip purse, looking for cash,” said Sintith Chhour, owner of LV Nail Spa on West Road in Powell.
Store security cameras captured a man get into the business through an unlocked back door on July 2, while employees were with clients.
Sinthith says a nail tech confronted the suspect in a supply room, who then ran out of the back door with a fanny pack filled with credit cards, cash, and a car key.
The break-in didn’t end there, seconds after the culprit leaves the salon, the video shows a parade of techs and employees chase after the guy.
“We run after him,” said Sintith, “I tried to follow him.”
But the suspect was long gone by the time the group started looking for him outside.
Powell Police tell ABC 6/FOX 28 they believe the same thief targeted two other nail salons in the area within 45 minutes.
Investigators say the same suspect was caught on surveillance walking through the back door to commit similar crimes at Queens Nails on Moreland Street and Rainbow Nails on Sawmill Parkway.
“I think he is going to come back if they do not catch him,” said Sintith.
Powell Police is now investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call Powell Police at 614-396-3345.
