Concerns continue at troubled Franklinton apartment complex
ABC6 continues to demand answers from management at a Franklinton apartment complex.
The property was already been cited by city code enforcement for several safety issues. Residents reached out to 6 On Your Side because they fear the complex is unsafe. They told ABC6 they worry their concerns are not being heard by management.
As soon as ABC6 went back to the property Friday to get answers a resident approached our crew. She didn't want to reveal her name, but she had plenty to say regarding issues at Central Gardens apartments.
“This place is horrible. I’ve never lived in a place this bad my entire life. They are not going to fix anything. They’re not going to fix nothing,” said the resident.
ABC6 visited the property last week as Columbus Code Enforcement examined the property. Central Gardens was cited for several violations.
Management has still not responded to our numerous requests for a list of improvements that are being made at the property. However, city code enforcement told ABC6 that several emergency orders have been addressed. One of those included making sure smoke detectors are functional. Central Gardens is the same complex where dozens were forced from their homes following a major fire just weeks ago.
Management at the complex told ABC6 they will provide a response to our questions in 24-hours.
