The Glory Days: Current, former Jackets are certainly enjoying the playoff ride
COLUMBUS -- Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre was an original Blue Jackets defenseman in 2000 and he's certainly enjoying the transformation taking place at Nationwide Arena these days.
These are the glory days for the CBJ who lead their opening round series with Washington 2 games to none, awaiting game three Tuesday night at Nationwide Arena.
"This team has been surprising as they go down 2-0 in both playoff games and they don't seem to care," Grand-Pierre told ABC-6 Monday. Grand-Pierre is working with the Blue Jackets TV and radio broadcasts during the postseason. "Nationwide Arena should as loud as its ever been, (Tuesday)" Pierre said. "The energy in the city and the adrenaline at the game should be unreal. Just have to watch the penalties with all that excitement."
Grand-Pierre said this team sets up nicely for head coach John Tortorella who has brought them along perfectly. "He likes those young guys he can mold mixed in with a few veterans."
Game 3 of the series is Tuesday at 7:30 with game four set for Thursday at 7:30.
