Crew SC still smarting from shutout loss to expansion Atlanta United FC

COLUMBUS -- This one is not sitting well with Crew Nation.

The second brace in the MLS career of Hector Villalba was enough to carry visiting Atlanta United FC to a 2-0 victory over hosts Columbus Crew SC at MAPFRE Stadium Saturday night, ending a three-game road losing streak and a five-game winless streak away from home for the expansion club.

The Atlanta win also moved the visitors ahead of the hosts in the Eastern Conference standings. The Crew now 6th in the Eastern Conference of MLS.

The result was a stunner for Crew SC, playing in front of its biggest crowd in two seasons, 20,391 and followed a rousing second half performance in a 4-1 win over Montreal one week ago.

Villalba opened the scoring in the 27th minute, off an assist from Atlanta goalkeeper Alec Kann, and doubled the lead for the visitors with his eighth goal of the season in the 64th minute to secure a season sweep of Crew SC.
