The Cleveland Indians have put All-Star relief pitcher Andrew Miller on the 10-day disabled list with right knee soreness.

Miller, the team's key acquisition at last season's trade deadline, has a 1.67 ERA in 54 innings this season. He has allowed just 26 hits in those 54 innings, but had allowed hits in three-straight outings.

Team President Chris Antonetti told Sirius XM's MLB Network Radio that the injury is something Miller has been pitching with, but the team felt like now is the time to rest and let it heal.

"It just got to the point where given his workload and the volume that he pitches, it's been tough for him to get through," Antonetti said on MLB Network Radio's Inside Pitch. "Rather than ask him to continue to pitch through it, we went to Andrew and thought this made the most sense. We can get it behind us and have him strong for the balance of the season, rather than have him continue to compensate for it."
