COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Multiple Ohio State student-athletes including members of the football team spent their morning “Leveling the Playing Field.”
Athletes with the NIL Collective, Cohesion, teamed up with the Lindy Infante Foundation to help kick off, “Leveling the Playing Field Inc.” The organization collects new and gently-used sports and playground equipment to provide an affordable and accessible option to under-resourced youth groups.
“It feels great to give back to the people in the community who support you and support the football program,” First-year Ohio State receiver Carnell Tate said.
Tate, along with teammates Will Smith Jr., and Victor Cutler helped collect and sort equipment at Olentangy Liberty High School this morning.
According to the Lindy Infante Foundation’s website, more than 21% of Franklin County lives in poverty and only 30% of families with lower incomes can afford participation sports.
