The Football Fever: Meyer pleased with former head coach hires in Wilson, Schiano

COLUMBUS -- Urban Meyer admits he may not have hired a former head coach as a younger head man himself.

But Meyer is certainly comfortable with his own career which includes three national championships and a 61-6 record at Ohio State.

Greg Schiano, the former Rutgers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach, is in his second season with Ohio State as associate head coach and defensive coordinator.

Former Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson brings an impressive resume to Columbus after six seasons as the head coach at Indiana.

"My hats off to them to dive in to be a position coach and be a coordinator has been outstanding," Meyer told reporters.

Wilson has been impressed so far with the standard set by Meyer. "He demands my best every day, demands it from every person in our organization across the board, "said Wilson. "There is tradition here, talent here and resources but there is also a standard here that's higher than any place I've ever been around."

Wilson returns to Indiana in the season opener to face the Hoosiers Aug. 31st.

The Football Fever pregame shows airs at 7 pm on FOX-28.
