Isabelle Hanson

Isabelle Hanson is joining the ABC 6 and FOX 28 family after interning with the news team in the summer of 2017. During her time here as an intern, Isabelle made it her goal to one day be a part of the team as a reporter, so she is grateful and excited to be living out her dream.

Isabelle graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Bachelor of Arts in Music, and a marketing minor. She moved to Columbus from the southern Illinois/southeast Missouri area, where she worked as a weekend evening anchor and reporter at KFVS12.

Isabelle started formal violin training at the age of four and played as a principal violinist with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras and Southeast Missouri State University Orchestra.

She also performed with the Miami Misfitz a cappella group while in college and can be heard singing with the Misfitz on two albums found on iTunes and Spotify.

Isabelle served as Miss Illinois 2021, placing in the Top 10 at the Miss America Competition and earned the top-scoring talent award.

She spent her time as Miss Illinois visiting thousands of students in schools across Illinois and equipped them with tools to be respectful and responsible social media consumers and creators. Isabelle is the proud dog mom of a rescue named Ruby who is a corgi mix!
